Medication Assisted Treatment is truly the miracle for my wife and I!!!! We moved down to NC from PA in hopes that getting away would be able to get us clean. It was a huge bust. After we moved back to PA, she went to county for three weeks on unpaid fines. While she was in there I voluntarily checked in to Bowling Green in Brandywine. Completed my treatment hoping it would help and to show CYS I would do whatever it takes. Well my first day out we were using again. Then, finally after literally years of contemplation we got into A.R.S. of Lancaster!! Oh and yes we tried cold turkey and buying Suboxone and Subutex off the street but nothing ever came close. We've been going to A.R.S. a little over two years, and it really is the best thing we ever did. The counseling and group sessions are great. I can honestly say almost everyone working there is top notch. I really just wish the DEA would lighten up on some of the ridiculous laws regarding Methadone. Oh, and I really wish they could actually open more A.R.S. centers than just one in Lancaster County. I know a significant amount of people that would get in the program if it wasn't one all the way in Lancaster. Or maybe even run private vans or buses to pick people up and get them there.
